2 out of 5Friends, I was so ravenous this particular morning that I didn’t even stop to take a picture of this Benedict before eating. My deepest apologies, but I’ll do my best to paint the picture (& I found a picture off Yelp that matched my experience).
It was a Wednesday afternoon, around 12:30 PM. My group of 3 had no wait, but please be aware that the wait for this particular restaurant can sometimes be up to an hour and a half at peak times (weekends)! We were quick to be waited on, and while I, of course, knew what I was going to have, my friends seemed to feel rushed by the waiter to place their order. The food took about 15 minutes to come out, and the presentation was so-so. Standard two Eggs Benedict with very plain looking house potatoes on the side. The potatoes barely had any seasoning! Anyways, that’s not what we’re here for. What struck me immediately was how small the poached eggs looked and how thin the hollandaise sauce was. We’re not off to a good start folks! As I mentioned, I immediately dig in! Picture this looking something like digging in to an overdone steak using a butter knife. It wasn’t a good look. The English muffin was so thick and so hard, that I was wishing I had a steak knife! This is not an exaggeration. To add insult to injury, the ratio was totally off, and I ran out of egg so that I was unable to finish my eggs Benedict with the perfect sauce, eggs, ham, muffin ratio. Maybe they were feeling off their game this Wednesday, but I left feeling unimpressed. This Eggs Benedict wasn’t worth waiting 15 minutes for, and it sure as hell isn’t worth waiting an hour & a half for! On to the next!
